Cardtronics signs ATM branding deal with Wachovia

March 21, 2006

HOUSTON - Cardtronics Inc., the world's largest owner/operator of ATMs, signed an ATM branding agreement with Wachovia Corp., the fourth-largest bank holding company in the United States.

According to a news release, Wachovia has branded all of Cardtronics' ATMs at Love Field Airport in Dallas. With the Love Field ATMs, Wachovia's total ATM footprint exceeds 5,125 machines.

All Wachovia-branded ATMs at Love Field will be surcharge-free to Wachovia customers.

"Our ATM network is an important part of our growth in Texas," said Wachovia's Pete Jones. "We see this opportunity at Love Field as a way to broaden our reach and create additional convenience for our customers, (as well) as a great complement to the 15 or so new financial centers we will open in Dallas-Fort Worth this year."

Wachovia Corp. operates as Wachovia Bank in 15 states, from Connecticut to Florida and Texas.

"Wachovia went through a very thorough analysis regarding ATM branding," said Keith Myers, executive vice president of financial services for Cardtronics. "It is very gratifying for Cardtronics to earn the Wachovia business after such an analysis."
