Cardtronics selects S1's Postilion for ATM transaction processing

November 19, 2006

ATLANTA - S1 Corp., provider of customer-interaction-software solutions for financial and payment services, announced that Cardtronics LP has signed a deal to install Postilion software to provide in-house ATM transaction processing for its network of more than 26,000 ATMs. Postilion also will provide Cardtronics with the ability to quickly adapt to the changing customer requirements.

S1's Postilion is used by financial institutions, retailers, processors, and telcos to drive payments - including advanced financial transactions such as prepay and self-service - through ATMs, POS terminals, phones, and Internet access points. The modularized family of products drives consumer-generated transactions at every point of an EFT network.

Key capabilities of Postilion include:
  • ATM and advanced ATM processing and monitoring.
  • Retail POS processing.
  • EFT switching and routing.
  • Prepaid-card programs.
  • WAP and Internet payments and banking.
  • Mobile commerce.
  • Call-center transaction processing.

"We realized that we were outgrowing our current method of managing our network," said Michael Clinard, Cardtronics' chief operating officer. "As we continue to globally expand and provide additional value-added services via the ATM, we sought a solution that would help us reduce overall cost, improve our world-class customer service, and enhance our position as a leader in this market."

Postilion provides Cardtronics with a scalable and open architecture that permits easy implementation of new products and services at ATMs, kiosks, and POS terminals. The Cardtronics implementation includes support for various types of ATMs and has multiple interfaces to networks and other systems. Postilion Office, which provides post-transaction processing of data, will provide Cardtronics with detailed reporting as well as automated settlement and reconciliation with networks.
