Cardtronics Inc. has hired a chief marketing officer as part of the company's recent reorganization of its United States operations.
Tom Pierce joined Cardtronics from Jacksonville, Fla.-based Fidelity Information Services (FIS), where he was vice president of marketing strategy.
"Tom Pierce is an exciting addition to the management team of Cardtronics," said Steven Rathgaber, the ATM ISO's CEO. "We believe that a focus on marketing is critical to the future success of Cardtronics."
Pierce is responsible for company-wide marketing, advertising and communications efforts, including building Cardtronics' brands.
Rathgaber mentioned during the company's third-quarter analysts' conference call Tuesday that Monday was Pierce's first day on the job. Pierce reports to Rathgaber.
Cardtronics, the world's largest ATM ISO, reorganized its management team to focus on the U.S. market. "We believe this market with more than 10 billion ATM transactions annually, holds a great untapped potential for Cardtronics," Rathgaber said.
