Venice, Florida-based cryptocurrency kiosk operator Byte Federal has launched a website offering information about ways to prevent fraud related to cryptocurrency kiosks. The site provides educational information about common scam tactics, how criminals try to manipulate victims, and the security measures the company uses to protect users of its crypto kiosks.
Byte Federal emphasizes that the vast majority of transactions are legitimate, but that awareness of scam patterns remains essential. Nearly 99% of crypto kiosk transactions are fraud-free. Still, Americans lost more than $333 million to crypto kiosk scams in 2025, according to FBI data.
The site explains how scammers often contact victims by phone, text message or email, pretending to be a bank, government agency or tech-support representative, and then pressure them to send funds to a "safe account" or deposit cash into a crypto kiosk to "protect" their money. It encourages people to take time to verify suspicious requests, avoid sharing personal information with unknown callers and understand how scams typically operate so they can recognize the warning signs before completing a transaction.
Founded in 2016, Byte Federal operates more than 1,200 machines across more than 40 U.S. states, serving more than 150,000 customers and processing hundreds of thousands of transactions.
