Burroughs scanners OK'd for use with Aptra Passport

NCR has given the green light to the Elite and Open Professional scanner series; Micro Elite and Adaptive certification is expected to follow soon.

Burroughs Inc., a provider of item processing equipment for the financial community, has announced that NCR Corp. has qualified several Burroughs scanner lines for use on Aptra Passport software.

According to a press release, the certified hardware includes the Elite and Open Professional series of Burroughs scanners. The company expects certification shortly for its single-feed Micro Elite and Adaptive mixed-document scanners.

"We are very pleased to be certified on NCR software," Burroughs Vice President and General Manager Alan Grote saidin the release.""[W]e believe the combination of Burroughs' industry-leading scanner hardware with NCR's proven Aptra Passport software and services will provide users with an exceptional solution from very low volume users up to the heaviest volume clients."

NCR Aptra Passport provides omnichannel remote deposit capture solutions that allow banks, businesses and consumers to deposit checks themselves by automating the payment and deposit process.

Scanners certified for use with the NCR Aptra Passport solution range from single item scanners up to scanners processing 155 items per minute.
