Payment solutions provider BPC Banking Technologies has successfully completed a set of audited performance and availability tests for SmartVista, the company said in a news release. During the test, the company's SmartSwitch solution delivered peak performance of 2,932 transactions per second with 40 percent server utilization, demonstrating ample capacity for growth.
The tests were conducted at the IBM Systems Solution Center Labs in Bangalore, and were audited by KPMG. They were designed to replicate real-world situations, with very high transaction loads.
The results demonstrate that SmartVista can support the volumes generated by extremely large ATM networks, BPS said — 2,932 TPS equates to an ATM network with more than 520,000 ATMs carrying out 10.5 million transactions per hour, according to the BPC release.
During the 2-hour stress test, SmartVista sustained an average of 1,875 TPS, which equates to an 330,000-ATM network operating at full capacity. Even at these levels, SmartVista delivered response times of 0.1 second, the company said.
Part of the SmartVista end-to-end payments solution, SmartSwitch is a real-time, high performance, rules-driven system. It delivers total management from the point of acceptance of the transaction all the way to the issuer and back again.
SmartVista has achieved IBM Banking Industry Framework certification for the Payments and Securities and Integrated Risk Management domains within the framework.
The solution has been validated as part of the IBM PureSystems program and can be integrated with other applications seamlessly and in a non-disruptive mode, BPC said.
