Beijing uses biometrics to catch criminals at ATMs

(China) Monster and Critics: Chinese police will begin outfitting ATMs with facial-recognition software to help identify suspected criminals. The system will be installed on more than 1,000 Beijing ATMs by the end of October. The city's remaining 3,000 ATMs are expected to follow suit within a year.
