Banks in Nigeria test the Central Bank, hold out on removal of off-site ATMs

Vanguard:While the Central Bank of Nigeria has made the decision to extend the deadline for banks in the country to remove all ATMs from public places, the Central Bank says it is not giving up and will continue to push banks until all off-premises ATMs have been removed. The directive does not seem to sit well with ATM experts, since off-site ATM deployments are seen as being economically beneficial and have been embraced in most markets around the world. The directive could render useless about 60 percent of all ATMs deployed in Nigeria.
