Banco Internacional, Diebold partner to streamline self-service

The Ecuadorian bank will deploy more than 400 new ATMs, as well as software and services, to promote efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Banco Internacional, one of the top five banks in Ecuador with 88 branches serving more than 500,000 customers, will update its ATM network with more than 400 new Diebold 5500 series ATMs. The bank also will use software and maintenance services from Diebold Inc., according to a company press release.

With the change, Banco Internacional aims to streamline efficiencies and reduce operational costs in its self-service channel, while and increasing consumer satisfaction with the channel. As part of the agreement, Diebold's advisory services team will help implement the new technology and develop a training strategy for the branch staff.

"Diebold's innovative new technology will enable us to increase efficiencies and improve the consumer experience by migrating transactions typically performed with a teller, to the self-service channel," said Guillermo Moreano, technology vice president at Banco Internacional.

"We are excited to expand this partnership to include the most comprehensive suite of solutions to continue to meet the needs of Banco Internacional and the Latin America market.
