B2 Payment Solutions intros new EMV, contactless test card sets

September 14, 2017

B2 Payment Solutions Inc., a provider of products and services for the payment industry, has expanded its product portfolio with new test card sets — including sets for JCB and China UnionPay, as well as user acceptance testing card sets for Europe and the U.K.

The new test card sets can be used to test and demonstrate EMV contact and contactless payment solutions, and to perform user acceptance testing to ensure interoperability with existing systems, according to a B2 press release.

The card sets are available for merchants, point-of-sale developers, value-added resellers, independent software operators, processors and acquirers.

The cards work with the major processors and can be white-labeled with company branding or produced on demand as custom cards.

Features of the new UL UAT EMV test card sets include:

  • For the European market: 16 cards, including contact, contactless and fallback cards. This set includes test cards for American Express; Discover; Diners Club; MasterCard (credit, debit, Maestro); Visa (credit, debit, V-pay, Electron). The cards are interoperable using a variety of issuer country codes, currency codes, preferred languages, and cardholder verification methods.
  • For the U.K. market: 14 contact and contactless cards for American Express; Diners Club; MasterCard (credit, debit, Maestro, domestic cashback); and Visa (credit high value, V-pay, Electron, debit, domestic cashback).

"Physical test cards are extremely helpful to all parties within the payment transaction process," B2 President Bruce Murray said in the release. "It's very important that acquirers, POS software developers and merchants test their interoperability of their systems to ensure that these payment acceptance devices work within the changing payment infrastructures before launching solutions into the market for consumer use."

B2 also provides a range of card, POS, ATM and host test tools to help payment industry stakeholders go live with EMV and contactless infrastructure, the release said. The company is an exclusive payment test tool distributor for UL in North America, and also has produced card sets for the U.S. and Canada.
