Austrian festival's 4K attendees go cashless

July 4, 2017

Six Payment Services, a European cashless payments provider, enabled cashless payment at the recent Fifteen Seconds Festival, according to a press release.

The June festival in Graz, Austria, attracts "curious minds challenging the status quo" and boasted more than 4,000 guests, as well as speakers from global brands including Google, Ikea and Microsoft.

The festival was cashless only, "minimizing queues, reducing the risk of cash theft and relieving caterers of the need to provide change," the release said.

SIX provided the payment infrastructure for 100 terminals at the festival's food market, design market and the Spotify after-show party.

"We expect events without cash to become increasingly common in the future and look forward to continuing our partnership with the Fifteen Seconds innovators, as well as other event organizers across the country," Thomas Grabner, managing director of Six Payment Services in Austria, said in the release.
