Australia's Commonwealth Bank is adding a new feature to its mobile app that will enable cardless cash withdrawal at the bank's ATMs. The service will go live in May, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
The customer sets up the transaction request within the mobile app. The app returns a one-time use code. The customer enters the code on the ATM keypad and the machine dispenses the cash. The CBA mobile app is available in both Android and iOS formats.
A customer will be able to make only one withdrawal a day with an upper limit of A$200 ($186). The report said that CBA is still in the process of updating ATMs to support the new function, so it will not be available on all CBA machines at this time.
