Auriga helps Millennium BCP to create next-generation branches

December 11, 2018

Portugal’s largest private bank has undertaken an extensive branch transformation project, and has called upon Auriga to provide the software that will drive its newly transformed branches, according to a press release.

Lisbon-based Millennium has selected the WWS suite from Auriga to create an integrated digital platform for its next generation branches.

In the transformed branches, all treasury functions take place on self-service devices, freeing staff to help customers with more complex requests. Staff can use tablet computers for full visibility into how customers are using branch services and can use these insights to engage with customers productively in-branch.

The performance of all devices in the branch is monitored from a central console, enabling the bank to ensure that it is delivering the best possible services, the release said. The results are evident in Net Promoter Scores for the bank itself (85 percent) and also its MTMs (average score of 92 percent).

"We have a close partnership with Auriga, one that is a win-win for both of us," Sergio Magalhães, director of the digital transformation office at Millennium BCP, said in the release. "Auriga sees us as something of a challenger bank in that we are constantly approaching them with new requirements. In return they give us the opportunity to try out Auriga’s ideas for how to deliver better customer banking experiences."
