ATMIA survey seeks information on IAD bank account closures

January 18, 2019

The ATM Industry Association has launched a survey to evaluate the impact of sudden cash settlement account closures experienced by independent ATM deployers.

Many of these accounts were in good standing when closed — and have been for decades, the association said in a press release. In almost every instance, a reason for the account closure was not given.

In order to develop strategies to help IADs deal with these situations, ATMIA is conducting the 2019 IAD Cash Settlement Account Survey. The survey aims to determine the scope of the problem, the circumstances surrounding a typical account closure, and the steps that affected operators have taken to address the issue.

The survey includes just 13 questions and takes only minutes to complete. It is open exclusively to independent ATM operators, owners and acquirers. ATMIA membership is not required to participate.

ATMIA expects to publish a report in February providing an analysis of survey results. The report will be free to all ATMIA members. Nonmember survey participants will receive a code redeemable for a free copy of the report.
