ATMIA industry award nominations due Sept. 27

BROOKINGS, S.D. - The ATM Industry Association has extended its deadline to Sept. 27 for nominations for this year's global ATM industry awards.

The awards are listed in five categories: lifetime achievement, best contribution to the industry made by an individual, best contribution to the industry made by an organization, outstanding innovation, and best contributor to ATM security.
 
The Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to an individual who has served in the ATM industry for at least 10 years and one who is widely recognized as an exceptional and mature leader who has positively influenced the industry. The individual's achievements or successes have either changed the industry for the better or the individual's management of a business or operation in the ATM industry has served as a model of industry best practice and business ethics.
 
The winner will be chosen by ATMIA's executive board.
 
The Best Contribution to the Industry Award, which will go to an individual and an organization, will require that the recipient meet at least one of the following criteria:
  • Long-term positive influence on improving the industry
  • Excellence in technology or levels of service
  • Leader in applying best practice
  • Specific and measurable achievements producing tangible results
The winners will be selected by ATMIA members by majority vote.
 
The Outstanding Innovation Award will go to a specific technology that has been used in the industry for at least two years. The technology that takes the award must meet at least one of the following:
  • An invention that has had a substantial recent impact on the ATM industry
  • An original idea or insight that has led to greater cost-savings, business efficiency or increased profits
  • A new solution for an industry problem
  • A new application or functionality that is beneficial to the industry
The winner will be chosen by ATMIA's international board.
 
The Best Contributor to ATM Security Award will be given to a company or individual recognized for having a positive impact on ATM fraud/crime prevention and reduction.. The winner will be selected by the Global ATM Security Alliance executive committee.
 
The awards will be presented in February during the ATMIA Conference East 2008 in New Orleans.
