SURREY, England — ATM Parts Co. Ltd., a division of Acal's Parts Services group, has announced its U.K. launch of the ATMeye with integrated anti-skimming, a new ATM-security solution designed to counter-skimming fraud and vandalism.
The solution is called ATMeye with ASD.
Building on the original ATMeye, which has 20,000 installations in 60 countries, the ATMeye with ASD integrates existing video security with the anti-skimming technology.
Developed by Europe-based company BS/2 (Penkiu Kontinentu Bankines Technologijos), the ATMeye video security system acts as an ATM video-surveillance system that solves vandalism problems, conflicts and fraud cases by capturing snapshots and storing video details. As a criminal attaches a skimming device to the ATM, the ATM-ASD101 anti-skimming device is activated, and the ATM then takes a predefined course of action while digital images of the person fitting the device are made available to the ATM operator via the ATMeye.
According to a news release, ATMeye's advantage is that visual information is integrated with the internal ATM application, thus allowing the images to be efficiently sorted, searched and selected by the financial institution, bringing to an end the searching of hundreds of video cassettes or huge digital-video archives. FIs can resolve conflict issues much faster, increasing customer satisfaction and reducing fraud with a simple selection process.
