ATM parts repair depot Circuitech makes a purchase

November 22, 2010

Circuitech, an ATM parts repair depot, yesterday announced that it purchased InVision Displays, a Minneapolis-based manufacturer of liquid crystal display (LCD) replacement kits for cathode ray tube (CRT) monitors in ATMs.

Circuitech president Wendell Petersen declined to disclose the purchase price. A cathode ray tube is a vacuum tube used to create images in the form of light emitted from the fluorescent screen. A liquid crystal display is a thin, flat electronic visual display that uses light-modulating properties.

InVision manufactures an 8.4-inch CRT monitor, which Petersen said were difficult to find. "I did not want to send my customers off to look for an 8.4-inch CRT monitor, I wanted them to come to us. We want to solve their problems," he said. Circuitech, which is based in St. Paul, Minn., now stocks and sells 8.4-inch, 10.4-inch and 12.1-inch CRT monitors for ATMs.

Petersen said InVision Displays also manufactured one of the most comprehensive and most advanced installation kits available.
