ATLANTA - Cingular Wireless and JBM Electronics, provider of wireless virtual-private-network routers to the ATM and POS industries, have signed a deal to powerATM Express Inc.'s network of ATMs.
According to a news release, ATM Express Inc. has lowered its transaction costs by 70 percent and reduced processing time to between five seconds and 25 seconds per transaction by using JBM's wireless routers and the AT&T, via Cingular, wireless data network.
"In our business, it is important to embrace the latest technology to help clients control costs and keep ahead of the curve," said Neil Clark, vice president and co-founder of ATM Express Inc. "JBM Electronics provides us with the ability to offer secure, fast and inexpensive transactions to our customers. AT&T provides us wireless connectivity, national coverage, and premier support that our customers demand. Since deploying JBM's routers on the AT&T wireless data network, we have experienced tremendous reception, and we look forward to working with JBM and AT&T to fulfill the growing demand.
"Our joint solution with JBM Electronics gives companies such as ATM Express Inc. the flexibility to strategically place ATMs where the demand is greatest - even in those locations where a wired connection is unavailable or impractical," said Laura Johnson, senior director of wireless solutions for AT&T.
ATM Express Inc. uses JBM's Gateway C250 cellular router, which is designed for ATM, POS and utility-meter connectivity. The router provides protocol conversion and interface support for legacy environments such as Async serial, SNA, 3270 Bisync, Visa II dial; IPSec and SSL security; and advanced ATM processing capabilities to interface terminal devices with the host system.
"We are excited to partner with a forward-thinking company such as ATM Express," said Steven Mintz, president of JBM Electronics. "Improved cost efficiencies and performance are very important to ATM customers."
