Like many South American FIs, Santiago, Chile-based Banco Falabella has begun the costly and complicated process of changing over its ATMs to the EMV chip standard. But with ATM emulation, the bank has been able to make the process simpler and less expensive.
Falabella is using ATMulator Plus from Paragon Application Systems, according to a news release from the software provider. The solution allows the FI to simulate its NCR Corp. ATMs for configuration file development and testing.
"With Paragon's ATMulator Plus, we are able to generate, modify and test new ATM configuration files in the specified network format before they are uploaded to the ATM," said Victor Reyes, head of projects for Banco Falabella.
"ATMulator Plus gives us greater flexibility in developing and testing our ATM configurations and helps us detect and fix any errors prior to uploading ATM load files to the ATM," Reyes said.
