ATM-based frauds dip below 1,000

The Japan Times:ATM scams hit a 17-month record low in Japan, the National Police Agency says, falling below 1,000 incidents in August. ATM frauds plunged 40 percent from July to August, namely because of better consumer education efforts, the agency says. ATM-related financial scams peaked in February.
