Euronet Software Solutions, a division of e-payments provider Euronet Worldwide Inc., has teamed with Aruba Bank, Aruba's oldest bank and largest commercial bank to implement the Euronet EMV chip card acquiring solution, providing EMV acceptance functionality at the bank's ATMs and POS devices.
This follows the implementation of EMV debit card issuing functionality by the bank. With fully implemented EMV issuing and acquiring, Aruba Bank is now in a position to usher in a host of progressive product offerings such as prepaid, contactless and instant issue chip-based cards, an announcement from Euronet said.
With a large presence of international customers in Aruba, the ability to support chip cards is an important distinction, since many of these customers travel to countries where EMV chip cards are required.
"Aruba Bank believes that building a reputation of reliability is about ... embracing the latest technology developments in a way that meets customers' expectations and provides for their security," said Cindy Ashcraft, vice president of Euronet Worldwide and managing director for Euronet Software Solutions. "Euronet supports that belief, and we are honored that Aruba Bank has chosen our EMV solution to facilitate the delivery of a variety of chip-based products for its customer base."
