ANZ Bank New Zealand has taken on Asia-Pacific's biggest deployment of NCR Corp. next-generation teller cash recyclers. The FI unveiled its first Cash Recycler 11 recently at the official opening of its flagship branch in Wellington.
The NCR TCR quickly dispenses cash for teller staff, so they can focus on the customer instead of counting out bank notes. Deposited notes are secured immediately in the TCR safe, eliminating teller cash drawers and the security risks that go with them, NCR said in a news release.
Further the ANZ TCRs will run on NCR APTRA Cash Connect, software that significantly reduces the risk of accepting or distributing counterfeit banknotes, the company said.
Ultimately, the teller cash recycler has allowed ANZ to remove barriers that have traditionally kept customers and staff on opposite sides of the counter.
"The NCR Cash Recycler is enabling us to make our branches even more open, welcoming and friendly, where our staff can shake our customers' hands and have meaningful face-to-face conversations," said Lynne Sutherland, ANZ general manager of retail for the central region.
"As in any other retail store, our staff can now engage more productively with customers, move around the branch with them and discuss banking solutions more effectively. The NCR Cash Recycler 11 helps ANZ create a better overall experience for customers."
