Angola's ATM network is poised for growth, with expectations that, within months, it will grow from the current average of 700,000 ATM transactions per day to 1 million.
According to a report by All Africa, the CEO of the country's interbanking service firm, Pedro Puna, said that the day is "not far" when the country will achieve the 1 million mark. He said the system tallied 10 million transactions per month last year.
Pedro Puna said so at the inauguration ceremony of the Emis new headquarter, adding that last year the firm manages ATM surpassed the figure of 10 million transactions per month.
All Africa reported that Angola currently has a total of 2,300 ATM cardholders. The total population of Angola is approximately 20 million.
