UL has announced that the ATM module of the Collis Brand Test Tool has been qualified by American Express for the simulation of AEIPS test cards.
The AEIPS Terminal Test Plan is a set of implementation rules outlining the terminal functionality required to process American Express EMV transactions. Acquirers are required to certify their POS terminals and ATM card readers with American Express after implementing AEIPS.
According to a press release, UL's programmable ATM test cards with a simulated card application and transaction logging capabilities ensure that the shutter of the ATM's motorized reader does not prevent successful testing of the device.
The test cards are managed by the Collis Brand Test Tool and qualified by American Express for ATM testing.
"We are confident that our customers will benefit from this qualification as it will help them reduce the time to market, ease their device testing, and increase their confidence during the American Express implementation," said Maxim Dyachenko, UL service line manager of test tools in the transaction security division.
