Alaric's Hewgill to lead fraud discussion at Prepaid Expo

February 25, 2008

LONDON — Martin Hewgill, Alaric International's head of marketing, has been tapped to lead a panel session about fraud prevention during Prepaid Card Expo 2008.

Hewgill will oversee the discussion, entitled "Practical approaches to mitigating risk and fraud issues through advanced monitoring, detection and data collection practices," at 2 p.m. on March 4. The discussion is expected to revolve around fraud-risk challenges in the retail prepaid-value chain as well as examine strategies for mitigating fraud risk and implementing best practices and technologies for effective detection and prevention.

Alaric, which provides card-based solutions, also is exhibiting at the event, showcasing a range of future-proof card payment products, including the award-winning Fractals payment-card risk management and fraud detection system.

"The industry has recognized that complacency about fraud and anti-money laundering is not an option for prepaid portfolios," Hewgill said. "This session will provide a compelling insight into how organizations can determine points of weakness or vulnerability, and what proactive steps they can take to drive down or avoid fraud in this fast expanding business."
