A new architecture model for the ATM

Software enhancements open doors for the ATM, but only if they're planned and properly tested.

It's no surprise that advances at the ATM have software enhancements to thank. As ATMs throughout the world are moved from OS/2 to Windows, deployers are realizing new opportunities for revenue-generating offerings and advanced functions that today's consumer demands.
 
But in the process of migrating from legacy platforms to Windows, some financial institutions and deployers have been too hasty, neglecting to take the network's big picture into account.
