Wincor Nixdorf recently signed an agreement with Raleigh, N.C.-based State Employees' Credit Union to provide multi-vendor software solutions for the FI's fleet of more than 1,100 ATMs. The CU has elected to implement the Wincor Nixdorf ProClassic multi-vendor software suite.
"SECU was looking to expand functionality and enhance the ATM delivery channel for our members," said Leanne Phelps, senior vice president of card services at SECU. "With increasing fraud and operational costs, we also needed a software platform that would allow us to increase security, manage the complexities of changing regulations with ease and provide our members and staff with the tools they need to be as efficient as possible."
The ProClassic suite includes ATM terminal, monitoring and security software designed to help FIs more effectively manage their self-service channel. With SECU's adoption of ProClassic, members will gain the convenience of envelope-free deposit of checks or cash. In addition, they'll receive customized on-screen messages and will have the option to get an email receipt.
"Wincor Nixdorf's ProClassic suite allows financial institutions to offer enhanced functionality through their self-service channel while reducing operational expenses by easily and seamlessly running all of their self-service devices — regardless of the hardware manufacturer — on one platform," said Oliver Weber, CEO of the company's Austin, Texas-based U.S. operations.
Wincor Nixdorf was the first ATM manufacturer to develop a multi-vendor software solution, the company said in its announcement of the SECU deal. To date, SECU is the largest U.S. credit union to implement the ProClassic software suite; with 1.8 million members, 248 branch offices and assets exceeding $25 billion, it is the second largest credit union in the nation.
