Triton gets to the 'heart' of the ATM user experience - Part I

A new feature lets ATM users make a charitable donation at the terminal and walk away feeling like a million bucks.

Humans are, for the most part, a charitable lot. You just have to catch them at the right place and time and pitch them on the right cause and they're generally willing to contribute what they can.

At ATMIA US 2014, Triton Systems showed attendees what makes the ATM one of the most logical places in the world to solicit charitable gifts — and what makes an ATM transaction the "right time" to get people thinking about donating a few dollars.

Triton has teamed with  Digital Donations, a company that helps charitable organizations meet potential donors where they are most often found — i.e. on digital devices and at the POS. The company has demonstrated great success with programs that let customers make a donation at the POS in venues such as groceries and pet stores.

Digital Donations brought in another partner — The American Heart Association — to serve as a test case for the donation interface. Based on that success, Triton is now rolling out the feature on its ATMs and Genmega will soon be on board, as well.

In the video below, Dave Bush, a member of the American Heart Association National Board talks about what an ATM-based giving program can mean to charitable organizations such as the AHA.
