PCI, EMV and ATMs: It's complicated (video)

Job One for any ATM deployer is securing cardholder data. But even for a seasoned operator, the standards, guidelines and best practices that govern ATM security can be not just daunting, but downright baffling. 

What's required? What's voluntary? How will it integrate with other systems? How much will it cost? What if I don't do it?

In the video below, Andrew Jamieson, security laboratories manager for Underwriters Laboratories, discusses how operators can educate themselves on required and recommended security measures.

Jamieson was a speaker in an integrated payments workshop at ATMIA US 2013 and also spoke about PCI and contactless security best practices in an ATM security workshop at the conference. 

During the event, Jamieson was named ATMIA 2012 International Consultant of the Year for his work writing best practices for contactless payments and for issuing an important security alert that helped operators prevent USB-enabled fraud at their ATMs.
