The ATM Industry Association used the occasion of its U.S. conference and expo last month in Orlando to kick off a new service to industry members — the ATMIA Academy.
The academy offers e-training for ATM operators worldwide in both the banking and IAD sectors. The Web-based classes provide ongoing, certified education that adheres to all industry best practices, according to ATMIA CEO Mike Lee.
ATMIA Academy takes a click-and-learn approach in which participants learn at their own pace and on their own schedule. Courses are divided into short sections for additional flexibility and ease of use.
More than 100 online sessions are grouped into five certification categories:
All courses and sessions feature detailed, job-focused training. Content is based on extensive research into global best practices and procedures of ATM businesses, and is drawn from industry experts in 65 countries.
Exams are "open-book," meaning that the student may refer back to session materials during the test. The student must score 100 percent on the exam in order to receive a passing grade.
Upon successfully passing all tests in a course of training, the student is granted a certificate of completion. Upon successful completion of all five courses, the student receives an industry-endorsed International Certificate for ATM Operators.
According to ATMIA CEO Mike Lee, ATM Academy training and certification will increase the credibility, visibility and professionalism of the industry.
In the video below, Lee elaborates on the mission of the academy and its benefits to participating operators.
Further information, including a complete description of courses and sessions, is available at the ATMIA Academy website.
Until March 15, ATMIA is offering a free preview session. Prospective students can sign up online to take Knowledge of Basic ATM Workflow.
