CLEVELAND and FAIRBORN, Ohio -- Wright-Patt Credit Union, one of the nation's largest credit unions with more than $760 million in assets and nearly 150,000 members, has become the latest participant in KeyCorp's agent bank program. (See related story Building on the installed base)
Through the agreement, Wright-Patt members gain surcharge-free access to Key's 2,400 ATMs nationwide. By partnering with Key, Wright-Patt offers its members access to an established ATM network without investing the capital into building its own proprietary network. Key is compensated with a fee, paid by Wright-Patt Credit Union on behalf of its members for each ATM transaction.
Wright-Patt Credit Union is one of 19 institutions and the largest to date to contract with Key.
Wright-Patt Credit Union members already had surcharge-free access to 3,100 ATMs through Wright-Patt's membership in the Alliance One ATM network. With the Key deal, they can now access funds at more than 5,500 ATMs.
"While Key and Wright-Patt Credit Union might be viewed as competitors in some cases, we have joined together to the benefit of Wright-Patt Credit Union's members," said Daniel Neistadt, executive vice president of Key Consumer Payment Sales, in a news release.
