Wincor Nixdorf US hires new CEO

May 10, 2011

Wincor Nixdorf US today announced that Oliver Weber is its new CEO.

The 44-year-old Weber replaces Jens Bohlen, who was named interim CEO last October. Bohlen took over for Patrick Wright, who had held the job since September 2008.

Bohlen, 48, will remain on Wincor Nixdorf’s US board of directors. He also is senior vice president of Wincor Nixdorf AG's Global Services Division and a member of its board of directors.

Weber joined Wincor Nixdorf AG in September 2003 as head of Corporate Controlling in Paderborn. In April 2007, he was appointed chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Wincor Nixdorf US, which is based in Austin, Texas. At the same time Bohlen took office, Weber became Wincor Nixdorf US's chief financial officer. He also was chief operating officer, but he relinquished the position to Karlheinz Waffenschmidt, who had been general manager of Wincor Nixdorf Switzerland.

He has a master’s degree in finance and business administration from the University of Kassel in Germany and INSEEC in Paris.

Eckhard Heidloff, president and CEO of Wincor Nixdorf AG, said Weber is the right person for the job.

“He has a deep understanding of the U.S. market, our company and our solutions. We are looking forward to continuing this U.S. growth pattern under his expanded leadership” Heidloff said.

The company also announced that Gina Miller, who was Wincor Nixdorf US’s director of finance and performance and management, will replace Weber as chief financial officer. Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from San Diego State University.
