Wincor Nixdorf unveils new ProCash 3000 system
November 20, 2007
PADERBORN, Germany-Wincor Nixdorf unveiled its new ProCash 3000 Coin system at the BAI Retail Delivery Conference & Expo, which ran from November 13 to 15 in Las Vegas. The compact terminal is designed for easy and cost-efficient handling of large volumes of coin deposits in 24-hour self-service zones.
"Managing cash has become expensive for banks," said Uwe Krause, vice president of banking for Wincor Nixdorf. "Many financial institutions have already automated the handling of banknotes for both withdrawals and deposits. But the benefits of migrating coin deposits to the self-service area are still largely underestimated. The fact is, banks can only fully optimize their cash management processes if they automate all of them, including coin deposits."
ProCash 3000 Coin is a free-standing system designed for lobby areas. It can be accessed from both the front and back, depending on the particular requirements of the local branch. The coin deposit system not only tests and counts the deposited coins, but sorts out foreign bodies and then stores the coins in six receptacles with a capacity of up to 20 kg each.
After coins are inserted, a security shield automatically covers the bin and remains closed until the coins are checked and counted. The system counts up to 1,250 coins per minute. An integrated printer generates a detailed list of the deposited coins.
