Wincor Nixdorf lands Cardtronics deal

Cardtronics Inc., a Houston-based independent sales organization, has purchased several hundred ATMs from Wincor Nixdorf Inc. for an undisclosed price, ATMmarketplace.com has learned. The ATMs are the SlimCash, a cash dispenser, designed for off-site locations. It uses a PC platform with Windows XP.

It is not known where Cardtronics, which owns 33,700 ATMs in the United States, United Kingdom and Puerto Rico, will deploy the machines. Cardtronics has been a long-term customer of Wincor Nixdorf, but the purchase is considered a break-through agreement given Wincor's recent emphasis on reaching the ISO market. Cardtronics has certified nearly 100 of the SlimCash ATMs.

Wincor Nixdorf Inc., which is based in Austin, Texas, is the United States-based subsidiary of Wincor Nixdorf AG in Paderborn, Germany.
