BUDAPEST - Wincor Nixdorf Hungary, the Hungarian subsidiary of Wincor Nixdorf Group, is adding ATM hardware, software and services to its product offerings, which so far have included IT solutions for retail businesses.
Sales of banking products were previously conducted with a partner, according to a news release. Wincor is bringing the business in-house because of the Hungarian subsidiary's above-average rates of growth in its retail business.
"By doing this, we are taking account of the steadily growing economic importance of Hungary within Europe," said Karl-Heinz Stiller, the Group's chief executive. "At the same time, we are absolutely recognizing our excellent team in Hungary and counting on its continued success."
One of the marketing emphases for Wincor Nixdorf in Hungary is the introduction of its ProCash 3100 cash recycling systems, which allow deposited cash to be made available for withdrawal again after undergoing a counterfeit check. Wincor Nixdorf in May was the first manufacturer to be awarded the necessary approvals for this technology across the entire euro-zone by the German Bundesbank, acting on behalf of the European Central Bank.

Using cash recycling systems allows financial institutions to cut their cash replenishment costs, according to the release.
Attila Nagy, managing director of Wincor Nixdorf Hungary, predicted that Wincor Nixdorf's multivendor-compatible ProClassic software family would be popular among his customers as well. "(It) is ideally suited to running heterogeneous system environments like those in Hungary," he said.
The ProClassic open-system architecture can be used for teller desk peripherals as wll as for self-service systems. Wincor Nixdorf also offers ProView, a PC-based system for monitoring and administering self-service terminals.
