The C2020 allows customers to withdraw cash — or send it to a third party — using a smartphone or contactless NFC bankcard.

Wincor Nixdorf is launching the CINEO C2020, an ATM that lets customers withdraw cash using a smartphone or a contactless NFC bankcard. The device is intended to appeal especially to digital natives who have grown up with digital and mobile technologies, a company press release said.
To use the ATM, the accountholder first downloads a white label Wincor mobile app, which can be customized with the bank's own branding. The customer then uses the app to select the account from which the funds will be withdrawn and the amount of the withdrawal.
A QR code is then sent to the customer's smartphone, and is scanned at the ATM’s QR code reader. Alternatively, the system can use NFC authentication as code. To use an NFC card, bank customers enter their PIN using an encrypting touch sensor.
The system also can be used to dispense cash to third parties. In this scenario, the transaction data is transmitted to the recipient’s mobile terminal via Wincor PC/E software; the recipient can then collect the cash at the ATM.
The Wincor app also offers an ATM finder that shows the user where to find the nearest ATM that offers cardless cash withdrawals.
Certification and integration of the new systems into an FI's existing networks is simple since the Cineo C2020 uses standard software technology, Wincor said. Several banks in Europe, the USA and Asia have already begun testing the ATM.
