Nexus Software's Robert Usner walks through the benefits software enhancements are providing FIs in successful management of branch-automation systems.

Branch-automation systems manage devices, transactions and operational flow. But how should a financial institution control the systems? The pendulum of centralized control versus teller-station functionality has swung back and forth over the years. In recent years, the scales have tipped toward centralized servers that perform most if not all teller-station application functions - using a Web browser or other "thin client" implementation for the teller interface. But device control remains a local control issue.
How can FIs achieve the proper balance between centralization for managing content and configuration while distributing those functions that are needed locally at the teller ?
In this white paper, Nexus Software's Robert Usner answers that question with what he calls "Distributed Client" - a flexible approach to managing the centralized versus local client-function dichotomy.
