Western Union signs money-transfer deal with African banking group

CASABLANCA, Morocco - Western Union Financial Services Inc. and Bank of Africa Group have signed a deal to provide money-transfer services to Bank of Africa customers across eight African countries.

Bank of Africa Group has a presence in Madagascar, Benin, Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Senegal and the Ivory Coast. Its customer base will now benefit from Western Union's money transfer service.

According to a news release, the deal allows Western Union to extend its services to a new group of people who are looking for "fast, reliable and convenient" ways to send money around the world, as well as pay bills and purchase money orders.
