WAUSAU certifies Epson scanner for first product in Remote Corporate Capture suite

October 21, 2008

LONG BEACH, Calif. — Epson, a supplier of value-added banking and payment solutions, announced that WAUSAU Financial Systems, a premier provider of payment processing solutions for financial institutions and corporate customers, has certified the Epson CaptureOne check scanner for its WebDDL platform, one of three modules in its award-winning Remote Corporate Capture (RCC) suite. The company expects to certify CaptureOne with its Branch and Teller Capture modules in early 2009, according to a news release.   Available immediately to WAUSAU Financial Systems' WebDDL customers, CaptureOne enables fast, two-sided scanning of checks and remittance coupons, streamlining workflow and reducing overall check processing costs. With WebDDL, a financial institution can offer its corporate customers a remote, Web-based deposit and payment capture solution. WebDDL enables businesses to capture checks at their business location with the CaptureOne check scanner and then transmit data and check images electronically to their financial institution.

"WAUSAU Financial Systems' Remote Corporate Capture solution suite was recognized as 'best in class' by Aite Group in 2008 and cited as 'best of breed' by Celent in 2006," said Steve Buchberger, senior vice president, solutions management, WAUSAU Financial Systems. "Any components we offer with our Remote Capture solutions should also be best of breed — we chose Epson's CaptureOne for the strength of the brand as well as the proven quality and reliability of the product."

"With CaptureOne, WAUSAU Financial Systems' customers gain a highly reliable desktop scanner that virtually eliminates MICR misreads for both back office and remote deposit capture applications," said Bud Weist, vice president of sales and marketing, Epson System Device Group.
