Washington Trust gets Rhode Island's state ATM contract

The Day.com:The state of Rhode Island has awarded the Washington Trust Co. a three-year contract to place its ATMs in state buildings, colleges and universities.

In addition, the Westerly-based bank said the agreement also allows Washington Trust to place its ATMs in municipal buildings and schools.

Washington Trust has 16 branches in southern Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut. The state-chartered bank is a subsidiary of Washington Trust Bancorp and is among the nation's oldest banks.

Last summer, the bank reached an agreement with Brooks Pharmacy to install its ATMs in 48 pharmacies throughout Rhode Island as well as selected Brooks sites in Connecticut and southeastern Massachusetts.
