DAYTON, Ohio - Mel Walter has been named to the newly created position of vice president of self-service business development for NCR Corp.
According to a news release, Walter will oversee strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions, and industry-analyst relations that relate to NCR's self-service businesses. Walter also will work with the company's business units to implement NCR's self-service strategy in targeted industries, including banking, retail, travel, healthcare, the public sector and gaming.
Walter came to NCR in 1980, when joined the company on the ATM side of the business.
"Mel is a visionary with practical, long-term experience. He will serve NCR well as we strengthen our current self-service offerings and expand NCR's solution portfolio into new industry segments and application areas," said Bill Nuti, NCR's chief executive and president.
Walter most recently served as vice president of major accounts for NCR's Financial Solutions Division, where he was responsible for driving the company's self-service business with financial institutions and ATM deployers in the United States.
