Visa approved EPPs now standard on most Tranax ATMs

February 3, 2005

FREMONT, Calif. -  Visa certified encrypting PIN pads will be standard on all Tranax Technologies' Mini-Bank 1500, Mini-Bank 2150, Mini-Bank 2250 and Mini-Bank 2100T ATMs, effective Feb. 1.

According to a news release, a Visa certified EPP for the Mini-Bank 2500 will be available shortly.

Visa certified EPPs are physically designed to resist tampering and improve security by encrypting a PIN before it is transmitted to the host.  This deters interception by third parties, thus protecting consumers from fraud.

"Tranax's preemptive response to the Visa certification personifies our commitment to providing products that offer the highest level of security and compliance," said Hansup Kwon, Tranax's president.

Tranax is encouraging its distribution channel to help educate merchants about the security benefits of a Tranax ATM, as well as supplying Mini-Bank ATMs that will be compliant in 2010 and beyond.
