Visa and MasterCard stocks go up after financial reform

Shares of Visa and MasterCard rose Friday after the U.S. Senate's passage of a financial reform bill.

According to The Associated Press, MasterCard shares added $8.35 (4.1 percent) to close at $213.85. Visa added $1.38 (1.9 percent) to close at $74.20.

MasterCard shares topped $264 in mid-April, before losing about 22 percent of its value as investors worried about a number of amendments to the reform bill.
