Vietnamese bank accelerates ATM network growth with FIS switch solution

Solving its scalability issues has allowed the bank to expand its ATM network by 100 machines in less than 90 days.

Sacombank, the leading commercial joint stock bank in Vietnam, has deployed the IST/Switch payment processing solution from banking and payments technology provider FIS, enabling the bank to expand its ATM network by more than 15 percent in just three months, according to a news release.

IST/Switch supports multiple transaction types and its open architecture accelerates development and product launches, FIS said. This has helped Sacombank expand its ATM network from 600 units to more than 700 post deployment, overcoming scalability issues the bank had previously faced.

Additionally, implementing IST/Switch has allowed the bank to reduce its recurring IT expenditure on switch infrastructure, while offering more products and services through its self-service network.
