uWink introduces touchscreen system

April 17, 2005

LOS ANGELES - uWink Inc., a technology-based entertainment company, is introducing a touchscreen order-entry system for restaurants. According to a news release, the uWink Ordering System, which accepts ATM/debit and credit cards, provides a cashless ordering option.

This real-time ordering system also will allow restaurateurs and managers to review orders, inventory, revenue and staffing over the Internet.

"This is the first step to providing restaurant goers with an easy to use ordering system," said Nolan Bushnell, uWink's chief executive.

The uWink system allows restaurants to establish loyalty programs for frequent diners through the use of "club cards," on which customers' seating and menu preferences, among other preferences, can be saved.
