In response to wildfire disasters in Washington and Oregon, U.S. Bank has enabled approximately 500 ATMs in those two states to accept donations to the Red Cross for disaster relief.
Contributions will be accepted through Thursday, Aug. 21, and will go directly to the Red Cross, a news release from the bank said.
“Thanks to the generosity of U.S. Bank, the Red Cross is able to provide food, shelter, emotional support and cleanup tools to the people affected by the Western wildfires as they work to rebuild their lives,” said Neal Litvack, chief development officer for the American Red Cross.
Currently Washington is reporting 11 large wildfires and Oregon is reporting five. The fires have scorched tens of thousands of acres and prompted the forced evacuation of residents from hundreds of endangered homes.
