Universal Money Centers resumes SEC filings

March 4, 2002

MISSION, Kan.-- Universal Money Centers, Inc. announced that due to recent improvements in its financial condition, it had resumed filing periodic reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

On April 29, the company filed an annual report on Form 10-KSB for the fiscal year ended January 31, 1999 and Quarterly Reports on Form 10-QSB for the fiscal quarters ended April 30, July 31 and October 31, 1998. The company intends to file its annual report on Form 10-KSB for the fiscal year ended January 31, 1999 on or before its due date of May 3.

Universal Money Centers, which operates a regional ATM network and provides network management and switching services for banks and third party ATM owners, had previously ceased filing periodic reports with the SEC as a result of severe financial distress that had placed the company's continued survival in doubt.
