Union Bankshares expands ATM branding agreeement with Global Axcess

PONTE VEDRA, Fla. - Global Axcess Corp (OTC Bulletin Board: GLXS) has signed an expanded agreement with Union Bankshares Corporation (Nasdaq: UBSH) to brand an additional 31 ATMs under Global Axcess' Branded Cash Program.

UBSH, the third largest banking organization based in Virginia, is now the largest financial institution in the program, with 73 branded ATMs. The holding company operates four independent community-banking subsidiaries: Union Bank & Trust Company, Northern Neck State Bank, Rappahannock National Bank and Bank of Williamsburg.

"The expansion of our ATM network through Global Axcess permits us to achieve greater brand recognition throughout our market area and drives the opening of new accounts in previously underserved areas," said Tony Peay, chief financial officer of Union Bankshares Corporation.  "Convenience for our customers will be enhanced with a wider distribution of ATMs in our served markets and our customers will benefit from utilizing those services at no additional cost."
