UMB Bank signs ATM deal with Walgreens

March 16, 2005

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - UMB Bank has reached an agreement with Walgreens that will extend the bank's presence throughout the Midwest by expanding the number of UMB ATMs by 62.5 percent across the major markets it serves.

Most of the ATMs will be provided by UMB's ISO partners, eFunds Access Cash and Welch ATM Systems. UMB Bank and its ISO partners have committed to installation of UMB brand ATMs in more than 300 Walgreens stores in the UMB market areas.

The new UMB ATM installations are set to begin late April 2005 in Walgreens stores in Missouri, Illinois, Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma.

"This agreement will allow for increased exposure and greater access for our customers," said Mariner Kemper, chairman and CEO of UMB Financial Corporation, a $7.8 billion multi-bank holding company headquartered in Kansas City. "This expansion of our ATMs represents our commitment to providing our customers with services at more locations and is symbolic of the growth and changes we have planned for UMB in the markets we serve."
