UL EMV personalization validation tool debuts new branding

The tool assists in testing EMV payment products according to mandatory card personalization regulations from the major payment associations.

June 30, 2015

UL has rebranded its Collis EMV Personalization Validation Tool as the UL EMV Personalization Validation Tool. This is the first test tool from the Collis and Aspects product lines to carry the UL brand mark and name, a company press release said.

The UL EMV Personalization Validation Tool assists in testing EMV payment products according to mandatory card personalization regulations from the major payment associations including Diners Club International, Discover, EMVCo, JCB, MasterCard, UnionPay International, and Visa.

The validation tool introduces the style that the all UL test tools eventually will carry, the company said. The change in branding will not change the functionality or performance of the tools themselves, the company said.

"Whilst we are proud of the 'Collis' and 'Aspects' brand names, which stand for quality and trust, we are happy to announce we are replacing the names with UL," said Maxim Dyachenko, service line manager test tools at in the UL transaction security division. It is a logical step as we are part of UL."

The rebranding of Collis and Aspects products is the final step in bringing the transaction security division fully under the UL brand umbrella. The Aspects Company was acquired by the Collis Company in 2006. In turn, Collis was acquired by UL in 2012.
